Alstroemeria, native to tropical America, is also referred to as a Peruvian Lily. This gorgeous perennial is a member of the Amaryllidaceae family and is related to the onion, daffodil, agapanthus and nerine. Brought to Europe in the 18th century to be named by the renowned botanist Carl Linnaeus, Alstroemeria is composed of trumpet-shaped flowers, 1 1/4 to 2 inches in diameter, on one or more laterals. Many blooms are grouped atop stems 24 - 36 inches long. There are two main varieties of Alstroemeria; the Butterfly, which has shorter stems and peduncles, and the Orchid, which has longer stems and peduncles. We grow & select only the freshest flowers available so colors may vary. All of our 20 Stem (Minimum 24") Alstroemerias are fresh cut flowers and are packed in sturdy insulated boxes with a Gel-Ice pak.
